Behavior and Expectations.

Dear Parents,

I am writing this letter to inform how the behavior and the consequence system works in our classroom. Every student has numerous opportunities to earn stickers and/or points to earn rewards. We also have a behavior chart with a pocket for each student. Every child begins with “Green” meaning that they are beginning the day with a happy face. The cards can be changed by the following colors:

Green card =  Happy face

Yellow = Warning (Straight face) = 10 Minute Time out

Red = Sad face

For red cards students stay in another classroom during recess and an oops note goes home in the conduct calendar. If a student has a happy face all week long, they get a special reward at the end of the week.

Students earn a weekly grade of E, S, P, or U based on their behavior. Here is a break down of the conduct grades
:

E = All happy faces

S+= 1 mark in that week

S = 2 marks during the week

P = 3 marks during the week

U = 4+ marks during the week.

Students are also allowed to go back a card if they’ve redeemed themselves from a warning. For example, if a student has called out an answer or interrupted a friend- but after getting a warning they’ve done something good, like doing a great job walking in line, they can go back to green from a yellow card.

Students can also earn dragon dollars to be used when the dragon cart comes by in the classroom.

We also have a class wide incentive system. Students earn marbles for their class by getting compliments from administration personnel or teachers as we move down hallway. Students can also earn marbles for staying on green during lunch in the cafeteria.

Please speak to your child following rules and sign the note and return in green folder the next day.

Again, your help with reinforcing classroom rules and following directions is greatly appreciated!

I will be more than happy to address any questions or concern you may have. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me

Sincerely,
